As the new year began, knowing that our exhibition was only nine months away, we started to think about the publicity for it. We understood the importance of showcasing our work in the best possible light on our website and promotional materials but were struggling to capture professional-quality images in the gloomy winter light. We decided it was time to seek the expertise of a professional photographer.
Maria Walker shared her experience of having her work professionally photographed by her neighbour and professional photographer Elaine Boles Photography. Impressed with the results, we unanimously agreed to approach Elaine for this important task.
After bringing in our work to our monthly meeting, Maria took the responsibility of collecting everything and taking it to Elaine’s photography studio. Elaine had set up her studio with proper lighting and a large white background to ensure the perfect backdrop for our creations.
Over the next two hours, Elaine meticulously photographed each piece several times over, understanding the importance of capturing the intricacies and details inherent in our work. Her expertise in lighting and composition resulted in a set of professional quality images that captured the essence of our artwork and made it really stand out.
Our graphic designer Lynne Butt has since used them to create a professional set of publicity visuals for us to use on posters, flyers and on social media.
